  1. Good eveningpublished at 18:53 5 May

We're deep into the bank holiday weekend and there's still all to play for in three of the Championship matches in round five.

Kent are edging towards a rare win at Old Trafford, while in Division Two, Yorkshire are in a strong position to push for a final-day victory.

A draw looks odds on at Lord's despite a good day for Middlesex over Leicestershire, but who knows.

Lots still to be decided so why not join us?

What else wold you do with a bank holiday Monday?

  3. Close of play at Lord'spublished at 18:49 5 May

    Middlesex 407-8 v Leics 306

The umpires have been out again to check the light and this time decide that enough is enough.

It's been Middlesex's day as Sam Robson (162) and Leus Du Plooy (131) put on 250 for the third wicket.

Leicestershire bowlers stuck at their task and took six wickets after tea as Middlesex chased quick runs.

It looks odds on for a draw after the first day washout.

  4. 'The match is in Kent's handspublished at 18:48 5 May

    Close: Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 71-1 (target 164)

Kent are on the verge of an excellent win and it will be a thoroughly deserved win if they can get 93 more runs with nine wickets in hand.

The Kent captain Daniel Bell-Drummond is there alongside Ben Compton. They'll head off tonight having enjoyed their evening.

Lancashire have had a good day in terms of fighting back from a horrible position but the match is in Kent's hands.

  5. 'A very interesting day's play'published at 18:40 5 May

    Close: Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 167-3 - trail by 127

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Off they come after an entertaining day's play one way or another. Certainly a very interesting day's play.

Glamorgan are battling on pretty strongly you'd have to say.

They've weathered 60 overs today with 171 on the board for the loss of just those three wickets. They're not making it easy for Yorkshire.

A lot of hard work for Yorkshire to do tomorrow. We'll hope to hear about Matthew Fisher's fitness and whether or not he's going to be able to play on the final day.

  6. Close of play at Old Traffordpublished at 18:38 5 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 71-1 (target 164)

Tom Hartley to bowl the last over of Day Three.

A hint of turn as Daniel Bell-Drummond pushes the ball down the ground past short leg.

An appeal for caught behind as the ball bounces and fizzes a millimetre past the bat on route to the keeper.

Two slips now. Solid forward defence from the Kent captain.

Two silly points and a short leg as well.

Bell-Drummond is back and across to block out the over and that's it. He survives on 39 and Ben Compton has batted patiently for a 58-ball 14.

Kent need 93 runs tomorrow and barring an epic collapse in the morning, they're in a great position to notch up a first Championship win of the season.

There is turn and bounce for the spin duo of Lyon and Hartley though, so don't discount the Red Rose county just yet.

Hats off to bowlers Matt Parkinson (here at Old Trafford as a Kent player this time) and Wes Agar.

They shared six wickets to help bundle the host team out for 332 shortly after tea this evening.

  7. 'It's been a calm approach by Compton'published at 18:36 5 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 66-1 (target 164)

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It's been a really calm approach by Ben Compton and after a slightly jittery start it has been by Daniel Bell-Drummond too.

They'll be in a pretty rosy position first thing tomorrow morning certainly if they can get through these three overs.

They can probably absorb another wicket.

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 167-3 - trail by 127

Sam Northeast and Colin Ingram have dug in well to give Glamorgan hope of saving the game on day four.

They came together with the visitors in all sorts of trouble at 93-3 still 201 behind Yorkshire's first innings score.

But they have withstood all that Yorkshire spinners could throw at them to close with an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 78.

The White Rose are still big favourites, but there is, at least, hope.

Dom Bess is in to Sam Northeast who is in full-on block mode and plays out a maiden.

There's a reshuffle in the field as Colin Ingram faces Dan Moriarty.

He pushes back to the first and Moriarty fields it.

Dots and then suddenly a loud appeal!

Moriarty turns pone into Ingram's front pad, but he looks to have got a little bat on it. Inside edge saves him.

And that, ladies and gents, is that.

  10. Postpublished at 18:30 5 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 71-1 (target 164)

A bit of drama as Daniel Bell-Drummond flicks Nathan Lyon away and the ball bounces in front of leg slip.

The second ball bounces and turns sharply, beating Bell-Drummond's midriff and the keeper for four byes.

A single off the fourth ball punched down the ground.

  11. Postpublished at 18:27 5 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 66-1 (target 164)

Turn and bounce for Tom Hartley as Daniel Bell-Drummond is back in the crease and withdrawing his bat.

The third ball is driven back to the bowler but it bounces safely. Just.

A single taken off the fourth ball to long off.

Four fielders around the bat for Ben Compton, who defends safely with a thick inside edge to forward short leg.

An LBW appeal off the last ball is turned down.

The ball spins back sharply but hits the pad just outside the line of off.

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 171-3 - trail by 127

Change of bowling as Dan Moriarty returns.

Yorkshire would love to nip one of these set batters out tonight but they're running out of time.

Colin Ingram is happy to defend and gently push the balls back until the fifth ball when he tries a more audacious pull. No run.

Maiden. Six minutes until the close.

  13. Postpublished at 18:23 5 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 65-1 (target 164)

Ben Compton is well forward to defend against the bowling of Nathan Lyon.

Kent are looking well set to win this early tomorrow unless Lancashire can get a wicket or two before stumps.

Compton plays back to a ball that keeps a little low but survives.

The third ball is swept away for one off a bottom edge.

One more to Daniel Bell-Drummond off a thick edge along the ground, pushing into the off side.

The gap dips under 100 and we have three overs left tonight.

Sam Northeast picks up a sixth four of his innings off the first bonus over from Dom Bess to move to 46.

A real captain's knock so far.

The deficit is 127. Eight minutes to go.

  15. Extra time at Headingleypublished at 18:21 5 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 167-3 - trail by 131

Colin Ingram sweeps Joe Root's first ball through midwicket for a rare boundary off the England man.

He plays out five dots without alarm and that is that for day three.

Yorkshire's spinner have rattled through the overs today and there will be more before the 6.30pm close. We have 11 more minutes.

  16. Postpublished at 18:20 5 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 63-1 (target 164)

Daniel Bell-Drummond is again keen to take on the bowling, moving forward and across to drive to long on but there's no run this time.

The fifth ball is leg side and Bell-Drummond misses an attempted sweep.

    Two byes.

  17. Postpublished at 18:17 5 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 163-3 - trail by 135

Sam Northeast flicks Matt Revis' first ball away for two as this pair look to see out the day.

He flicks a single into the legside to the third delivery and Revis switches to around the wicket to Colin Ingram.

Another flick into legside brings a single to take a useful partnership to 70.

One over of the allotted 102 remains. We may get more.

  18. Postpublished at 18:16 5 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 61-1 (target 164)

Looks like Nathan Lyon will bowl through to stumps at this end.

Six overs left tonight. Two slips in. Silly point and a forward short leg.

Ben Compton defends. He tries to force the fifth ball away off the back foot through the off side and gets a single.

Daniel Bell-Drummond keeps the strike with a single, glanced to square leg.

  19. Postpublished at 18:13 5 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 159-3 - trail by 139

Joe Root has been keeping things tight and is into his sixth over.

Colin Ingram is happy to leave what he can outside off stump and it's a maiden.

Matt Revis starts the penultimate over of the day to Sam Northeast from the Kirkstall Lane End.

    Two scheduled overs left.

  20. Postpublished at 18:12 5 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 59-1 (target 164)

As suspected, left arm spinner Tom Hartley is in the Lancashire attack, bowling from the Anderson End.

Daniel Bell-Drummond is forward and across and misses a sweep.

The LBW shout is a bit half-hearted and turned down. Leg side.

The third ball bounces and fizzes past the outside edge as the Kent captain is forward to defend.

The fourth ball is short and pulled square for four.
